Buying 2 Puppies or 2 Siblings

We will not sell 2 puppies out of the same litter or same age from another bloodline.

We will be a support behaviorist by phone to answer any questions that can help you with your first year of training (when the dog is purchased here).  Bring your puppy here for visits.  This allows you to talk to other dog owners.  Our canine instructors are here to answer any serious questions to help you raise and evaluate your puppy.

This is to give you time to get started with your puppy in the correct socialization, and to get educated on your dog's behavior in the animal kingdom.  We give 10 group classes with each puppy on how to connect with your dog and become a team.  We give all shots except for rabies.

Here are some questions you must ask yourself:

  1. With busy lifestyles can you spend the correct amount of time to bond with 1 dog let alone 2 ?

  2. 2 puppies will pack bond.  I will say no to anyone who wants to buy 2 dogs from the same litter or 2 dogs of the same sex.  When they reach 12 months to 30 months old, the rivalry will start to happen.  Strangely enough, the worst fights are usually between bitches.  Males will also fight.  If you want a dog to be your companion, you will need to raise them one at a time.  Wait until your first dog is completely trained and then introduce the second dog.  If you do not agree, E-mail us at: von.falconer@usa.net and we will explain further.

  3. When raising and bonding with 2 puppies at the same time you must do the following:
    Feed them separately.
    Crate them separately.
    Train them separately.
    Walk them separately.
    Play with them separately.

Do you have time to do this?

Pack Leader
The human has to be the Alpha pack leader.  The dog must remain at the Beta Level.  Getting 2 dogs at the same time splits your attention.  Your 2 puppies will bond with each other and not strongly with you.  This can be countered by lots of individual time with each dog alone, but this is time intensive for the first few months.  Skip this important step and the 2 puppies will come to rely on each other, causing separation anxiety later on.  The underlying problem is the bonding between the 2 puppies.  Since the puppies were left alone together while you were away and never separated when you were around, their primary bond is with each other and not with you and the rest of the family members.

Housebreaking 2 Puppies
This is twice the trouble.  The more active the puppies are, the more potty breaks they will need.

Raise One Dog At A Time
When your dog is 1 year to 2 years old, add the second dog of the opposite sex.  The older dog will be bonded to you making it easier to train the new puppy.  Raise each dog separately and slowly, and you will have a well trained dog who is a happy dog.
